Hi, I am very worried about blood that looks like its iniside my stool. Water is never red. My symptoms have changed over the past year. I had a endoscopytthat the doctors suggested. Came back with gastritis but gave me medication itook for a while then stopped after making feel odd. I showed the doc picture of my poop and they said from red food. Fast forward to now and I feel fine beside very slightly nauseous feeling that goes away quickly. I have constipation and bight red color mixed into my stool. This pic is from month ago.

Hi Bangkokjoe,

Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I hate to hear you are having to deal with these issues. I am glad that you are seeking some answers to the signs you are experiencing.

The doctor said the red in the stool sample is from "red food." Did you get a FIT test first and the results came back negative for blood? If not, I would either do a FIT test yourself or have your doctor do it. There are many at home tests you could do on your own and then take the results to your doctor.

Bottom line, if it is "red food," then great. But if it is blood, you need to know that and find some answers to what's causing it. There can be many reasons for what you are seeing, but you need good answers to what's going on.

I do wish you the very best in finding out what's going on. Please put your efforts in to getting answers so you can put your mind at ease and not having to worry about it.

Please let us know what you find out. Information like that can help others experiencing similar issues.

Thank you,
