Dear IThinkIHaveCancer ,Thank you for posting and I'm sorry to hear about your pain and symptoms, and the stress that it is causing you.
Is there a specific reason why you think you have colon cancer? Do you have a family history of colon cancer? It can be scary to google symptoms and see "Dr. Google" say colon cancer, but the truth is that the symptoms you are having, could be caused by so many different things. Anytime someone experiences any type of symptoms we are going to encourage them to speak to a doctor, because if someone does have colon cancer, we want to make sure they are diagnosed at an early stage. Colorectal cancer in some cases is even preventable with regular screenings.
So because getting screened for colorectal cancer is the only way to know if you have colon cancer or not, if you are concerned, we would recommend that you speak to a doctor about it. But it is important to know that the symptoms you are experiencing, could be caused from many different things.... colon cancer is just one of many reasons people experience symptoms.
Some people are more likely to have constipation or other diarrhea, and for others, they have a mix. Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) - C is with constipation, IBS-D is with diarrhea, and IBS-M is for mixed, which means sometimes you have constipation, sometimes you have diarrhea.
Anytime that there is something that feels off, or not right, is when you should talk to a doctor. With COVID-19 happening, that may mean you have a virtual visit to start, instead of an in-person visit.
Certain medications can cause constipation. Also, you mention not drinking enough water, that is another cause of constipation. This is not a medical forum so we can not offer you medical advice, only a doctor or trained health professional can do that. We can tell you that it is important to talk to your doctor when you feel something is not quite right. Especially if it is causing you this much anxiety. Our digestive systems are very sensitive to stress, and so it is possible that you are feeling worse as your stress level continues to grow.
In order to find out why you are experiencing this pain and these changes in your bowel habits, you will need to contact a doctor. Many facilities and hospitals are taking special precautions to prevent the spread of COVID. If you are concerned about getting COVID, maybe you can contact your doctor and ask them for advice and ask what they are doing to make sure patients do not get COVID.
It does sound like this is causing you not only physical discomfort but also that it is raising your stress levels. In addition to seeking out a medical doctor, you might want to consider speaking to a therapist or counselor as well. If you see the posts in our group, many people are posting a lot lately about having health anxiety. I wonder if the fear of COVID has increased people's worries about their health.

The stress that comes with the uncertainty of experiencing pain and discomfort when going to the bathroom is something that a lot of people can relate to.
