I don't know why you're worried about a small spot of black stool , do your family have a history of colon cancer or something? But a small spot of black stool doesn't mean it's blood , mostly it's a color of a food particle , believe it or not even oreos cause black stool , leafy greens cause green or dark green stool , don't jump to conclusions and just monitor your health, and if there was a bleeding in the colon , all of the stool should be black and very black like tar and if the bleeding was closer to the anus then it should be bright red . You can have some GSE ( general stool examination) just to make sure and get some clarity.
I’m extra worried because I’m February and March I experienced bright red blood in stool around 5 times. I don’t have a history of family colon cancer but I’m worried the dark spot is now dark old blood it was a small amount of the stool about the size of a small almond but enough to really freak me out.
I'd recommend for you to go see a doctor, bright red blood means a lot of things, mostly are very easy to cure , but still it's not something to ignore, go see a doctor so you can have some peace of mind and freaking out won't solve anything, just stay calm , everyone in this community have experienced something worrying but still almond sized dark stool is nothing to worry about as i said it might be a coloring of some food you ate, have some blood tests and stool test and see if the doctor recommends a colonoscopy, update us with the results and good luck.
small amount of bright red blood on the surface of the stool or found on the toilet paper is often caused by a small rectal tear (fissure) or hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are common during pregnancy and after delivery because: The larger uterus places more pressure on the blood vessels in the lower belly, you missed telling me you're 23 and pregnant, girl don't worry .
You have blood every day? Black?
I just had a flexible sigmoidoscopy and a hemorrhoid was found. There’s not blood every day but most days there’s a small black spot on it it’s not a big amount but noticeable
Was just about to comment, how did the flex sig go? Do they believe the hemorrhoid is the cause of the previous bleeding episode?
We recommend you contact your doctor to ask about these dark spots. Stools are heavily impacted by what we eat even bits of undigested food can look alarming in the toilet.
Please contact your doctor for advice and let us know what they say.
