Blood in Stool.

Hi, I have blood in my stool. I get one bowel movement once a day in the Morning. it’s been few days that I have blood in my stool. usually the blood drips at the last minutes. so i went to the hospital and have it checked out. the doctor suspected that there might be a hamoroid and prescribe a depository to put after each bowel movement. it’s been two days I had no blood during the bowel movement. Then I saw the blood today again. So the blood in stool is irregular. I had my colonoscopy done in July. the result were normal Just a mild inflammation on the small intestine but nothing Major. But I am still worried sick. Anyone can help. Thank you

Thank you for posting and I'm sorry to read about what you are experiencing.

I am glad to hear that your colonoscopy came back with just a mild inflammation on the small intestine - but it sounds like there is more information that you need as a patient.

What did the doctor say was the cause of the blood? Did he confirm it was a hemorrhoid?

Either way, you need to contact your doctor to find out what you are supposed to do when you experience bleeding with bowel movements.

Please try to keep your anxiety from driving you to the edge - one of the side effects of anxiety on the body is to impact the gastrointestinal tract. Having had a colonoscopy is very good and has eliminated colorectal (bowel) cancer off the possibilities, but it sounds like your doctor has yet to determine what is causing the blood in the stool, and how it can best be treated.

We recommend that you go back to the doctor with a list of questions and if you are not satisfied with this doctor, seek a second opinion.

Hi Nicole. it seems the cause may be due to the constipation. I was covid positive and had dihariea for a day then I had difficulty passing my stool (constipation). So i was really pushing which may have chase the anus lining to tear. I felt burning sensation and nothing else. now it’s been 5 days I am more or less back to my regular normal and no blood in the stool. So i am really happy. though I am keeping an eye on my diet. drinking lots of fluid and staying away from food which may cause constipation. And my grand mother said to put three dry figs in water overnight and eat it in the morning to help with the bowel movement. I believe it’s helping. I am also staying away from food that cause heat in the body (dates, peanut butter, red meat) which I ate a lot during the times I had blood. I will be tested by a specialist in 2 weeks for the cause. Thank you Nicole, I really appreciate it.

So have you went to the doctor again to check on where does the blood comes from??

Hi mondlee, I will be checked the the specialist in 2 weeks. But for now I am not having any blood in the stool. Thank you mondlee, I will post the updates of my results. I really appreciate it.

Thank you very much cos I did my colonoscopy in March, everything is fine but once a while I will still poop blood, it worries me and nothing can my doc do so your update will be good because people over here may have similar situations
