Could I Have Colon Cancer?

Okay so, Im 16 and I’ve been seeing blood in my stools and on my tissue paper occasionally but not all the time for around 2 years, mind you I also had a very bad constipation history like 2 years ago that lasted for a while which I think where it started. I still see some blood on my toilet paper & stools up to this day but it’s never a lot and it may happen at least like once a month thats why Im a bit worried. My stools are also not that hard now but I still do take laxatives some times, I got checked like 2 weeks ago for a rectum exam and my doctor really go too far so she didnt feel anything so I got a stool test and it came out negative. Could this be like recurring internal hemorrhoids or something else?

Thank you for posting and I'm sorry for what you are experiencing.

Was this a primary care doctor that performed the rectal exam? You are correct that a rectal exam is pretty limited as far as how far they can examine inside.

If the doctor that you saw was a primary care, I would recommend that you see a Gastroenterologist so that you can be under their care to monitor not only the blood but the constipation.
