Hi,

Looks lie you posted this 4 months ago. I haven't been aroud here for a while. Is it safe to assume that you have seen a doctor by now and had a colonoscopy? My stools were just like that

Hi I have stools that look like this too. What other symptoms did you have? Do you mind me asking your age?

I am 70 now but I had those stools almost 3 years ago. I used to get up in the morning, drink 3 coffees and go to the bathroom once. But then for a couple of months, I was having those long stringy stools and going 5 times in the morning so I knew something was different. I had no other symptoms, no blood, no pain. But Google said it could be a sign of a blockage and immediately I thought "Bingo", my dad and uncle both had colon cancer. But they were in their 80's and I don't think there's was spreading or anything. Neither of them needed chemo but just had the tumours taken out. I hope this helps a bit and I don't want to alarm you. I'm sure there must be all kinds of causes but I got a colonoscopy right away and in my case, it was very timely. Please let me know how you make out

I’m glad you were able to catch it on time. I have requested a colonoscopy. Praying that everything is okay. Please keep me in your prayers. I’m terrified

Thanks and I will pray for you. I was lucky. My surgeon thought the tumour was about 20 cm from my anus and in fact, it was only 15. I think it was growing quickly and having my anus removed would have been a different ball game I guess. He didn't think I would need an ileostomy but I did. It was reversed after a year. But some people even turn down a reversion. I think I am past the colon cancer now but I guess you can't say that for 5 years and I am less than 3. But now there is a good chance I have prostate cancer. I had an MRI and on Wed will discuss a biopsy. I'm concerned about that as it 's a bigger deal than I would have thought, especially due to my previous operation in the same area.

One thing I have learned through these groups and also from what I have seen in the hospital is that no matter how bad off I think I am it is nothing comapred to others I have seen and I must count myself as lucky
