Is there anything out there - creams/cosmetics etc, that would help cover up horrible purpley, red blotches on my lower legs and feet caused by my neuropathy?
I really would like to wear a skirt occasionally in the summer without people commenting on the colour of my feet!

Sorry about your problem, but you know other people are remarkably unobservant. A friend with a cancer on her lip was resisting an operation because she was worried about the scar and I tried to cheer her up and encourage her to go ahead by showing her my skinny leg that I usually keep covered, but most people didn't seem to notice. Afterwards my husband said he had never noticed that I had one leg only half the width of the other and if anyone has the chance to see it uncovered it is him. You are probably far more aware of your blotches than anyone else. Would fake tan work until you get a real one?
I agree with every word above - I also would be very surprised if anyone really noticed!
However, you notice - that's the issue, isn't it - your own self-esteem and awareness of the problem. I would hate to advise tights in the summer, but they are always a possibility. What about maxi-dresses as well, they cover a multitude of sins!
As far as cream is concerned, do you have a Lush store anywhere close - try their "Dream Cream" - it's amazing at helping with all sorts of skin issues. I had a nasty rashy/blistery thing on one of my toes, and with regular dollops of Dream Cream (lush.co.uk/product/136/Drea... - it cleared up in a couple of days. It's lovely - I'm seriously addicted. It's basically a moisturiser but a really lovely one! May just be worth a try.....
Hi, I use johnsons summer body (med to dark). Its not a fake tan but a moisturiser with slight tanner built in, Its great, as it not only keeps your skin lovely and soft it builds up a gradual tan thats hides a few sins!! Apply a light coat nightly for the first few days and then about twice a week after. Its great! hope this helps
thanks everyone for your thoughtful answers. I'll have a go with the creams and let you know how I get on. Also, good advice about people noticing or not noticing - I'll just wear what I like, blotches or not, and not assume other people are remotely interested in my feet, and if they are, then so what!
Exactly! I used to be SOOO self conscious and it DID take me along time to get over showing my feet in public, and using my walking stick in public but I forced myself and that first day using my stick at work I remember was absolute hell!...
... for me it was anyway... my colleagues all couldn't care less!!! Proves a point huh!
I have all sorts of visible scars that I no longer care about. When I went to the podiatry clinic at Queen Margaret College in Edinburgh the supervisor asked if she could bring her students round to see my funny feet !
