interesting aspirin study

I am not sure if this has any relevance to CLL. It’s a new study from the University of Cambridge, which found that aspirin could reduce cancer metastatis by stimulating participants’ immune systems. It found that TXA2 ( a chemical produced by platelets) was a molecular signal that activates a suppressive effect on T cells. Aspirin is known to stop production of TXA2. The discovery of this mechanism could lead to new kinds of treatments.

Taking daily aspirin has a few issues so I wouldn’t recommend starting to take it on a daily basis.

The study was done using mice so let’s see how is goes in humans.

Here is the link to the study. nature.com/articles/s41586-...

Hello Kvb-texas

I read the same thing but also noted that it referred to solid tumors.

I agree. But, as someone with CLL and susceptible to secondary cancers, it is encouraging that they continue to discover new mechanisms for action. It has interesting implications for future combo therapies.
