I am a 73 yr old female diagnosed with CLL 2 years ago in watch and wait. My question is, what vitamins or supplements are best to take to help with increasing my energy?

I feel particularly tired and lacking energy when I did not drink enough (water 😉). I also think to be fitter since I started taking vitamin D daily.
Even if you did not ask for it, a little exercise is probably helpful too.
I see you are interested in healthy eating. What kind of diet are you on? Can you share more information on your current CBC results and CLL history? Also whether you have any comorbidities? As well as your fitness level and exercise routine? That could help with assessing what might help you. And if you lock your post you may get more answers. Meantime you can check my bio and posts to see my take on the mentioned subjects.
Vit D and lots of water. The first because CLL'rs often don't produce enough D the later is good practice at least for treatments that put a lot of load on kidneys. After that just have the occassional blood test checking vit status to see if anything is a problem.
Dear 12whitedoves:
Once a month I get B12 injections. That helps with my energy. I am B12 deficient.
just move!..haha in general would be good to know what if any vitamins/supplements you take now. also diet and exercise are a big part. when i say exercise i don't mean you need to go to a crossfit gym but something as little as regular walks after meals can help. a 10 min walk after each meal is ideal but what ever you can do is better than nothing. the more you are sedentary the worse fatigue will get. i am 55 and in oct will be 2 years watch and wait for me. i currently lift weights 3x per week and play basketball once a week. daily vitamins D, E, K2, quercetin, mushroom supplement and i take a supplement for joint pain/health. i also take a greens/immune powder i drink with my lunch (impel nutrition, INdaily) all stuff you should discuss with your dr to get the best combo for your situation. also you might need some different blood work/labs to see if you are deficient in any vitamins
I have found that my naturopath is better at investigating my vitamin levels (with blood tests) 2x year. I take zinc, B12, and a very large dose of D daily. I run everything by my CLL specialist. I also take Reishi mushroom capsules, fish oil, CoQ10, and monoplane ( for EBV antibodies off the charts). My specialist has never vetoed the naturopath’s recommendations. I believe this integrated approach has helped my AIHA stabilize. I am still DAT positive for the anemia, but all my other CBC and metabolic numbers are stable except for low haptoglobin. It took 4x rituximab infusions, one blood transfusion, and about 15 months to get to this point. Can’t say for sure if the supplements helped, but they did not hurt. As always, everyone is different, so you need to be tested.
