Hi Feavers,
Keep in mind Newdawn 's reply to your post of 7 months ago, where she listed the indications for treatment. healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
Specialists/consultants who don't take the time to familiarise themselves with these guidelines, tend to lump CLL in with other leukemias where lymphocyte counts exceeding 100 are considered to have reached the time for treatment, but you'll note that there is no lymphocyte threshold consideration for starting treatment. In fact, we have members with lymphocyte counts still in watch and wait, though your comment "oh numbers up 40 on above in 2 months" may give cause for starting treatment, particularly if your spleen has expanded more than 6cm below your rib cage. Your platelet recovery is reassuringly good news.
I note that you have been in watch and wait now for 6 years. If your consultant does recommend you start treatment, keep in mind the huge advances in treatment options you have seen shared first hand in this community. You'll have the advantage of learning what to expect from those who have successfully paved the way of introducing non-chemo treatment options in the UK.

The enlarged spleen can be a valid reason to start treatment, probably depends on how large it is.
based on my experience I think you are ready to start treatment. Tracks my circumstances closely. High WBC, low platelets, and enlarged spleen. Started on Calquence twice daily. Some nausea bout otherwise no side effects. 2 years later everything back in normal range and swelling is gone.
