I have cll and COVID
I got vaccine a month after having Covid - you have to wait a month ( or so I was informed) - I just follow what my docs say.
I can report that I had no ill effects from having Covid jab a month after having Covid apart from a sore arm. I wasn’t advised that it altered the efficacy beyond having it too soon ie within 30 days. As I said - I check what I’m about to do with Christie’s and follow whatever they say.
CDC, last year said 3 months, that may have changed. Check with them, and report back with a link if it has, it would help this community. 🙂
The advice about this varies from place to place and, as I can't read Spanish, I'm not certain if it's covered in this Sept 2024 document which outlines the latest vaccination advice for Spain ( sanidad.gob.es/en/areas/pro... ).
In the UK, Australia and the US you would be able to consider being vaccinated anytime soon. healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
The advice in all those places highlights the importance of getting vaccinated, even if you've been infected and explains that there is no safety reason to delay vaccination, provided you've recovered from your infection. The US advice explains that you may get a stronger response if you wait for 3-6 months after getting infected before getting your vaccination. However, people at high risk who are in an area where there is growing transmission of a new variant of the disease can consider getting vaccinated under 3 months. It comes down to making a risk assessment based on personal health risks, behaviours and viral prevalence in your area. It can take up to 2 weeks to mount what for you might be a good response to the vaccine.
"Evidence shows that vaccination after infection strengthens protection and further reduces the risk of reinfection. Therefore, COVID-19 vaccination is generally recommended for the eligible target population, including those who have recovered from the disease. Given the waning of immunity over time, people at higher risk of severe disease should continue to get vaccinated periodically and as per national recommendations, to maintain protection." ecdc.europa.eu/en/covid-19/...

I had Covid mid- August and my oncologist at Univ. of Penn. told me to get my Covid vaccine in November. She went by the CDC recommendations to get it 3 months after having it.
I was recommended to wait at least 3 months before getting the vaccine…
I was told to wait 6 months ..
I as well was told by two different oncologists to wait 3 months.
