Bell’s palsy
I had TMJ (trigeminal neuralgia) and another facial neuralgia. It eventually goes away the same way it came. What I had was frequent jolts of pain that lasted only about one second each on the side of my face.
I expect Jasper32 was answering your post here: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...
As others note, it involves (inflamed?) nerves.Sorry to say, it may be associated with Lyme disease, which latter, specifically borrelia bacteria, are enthusiastic on evading immune cells - eyes and nerves are two associated tissues.
A history of tick bites/bull's eye rash/migrating arthralgias, or finding antibodies, help such diagnosis.. but immune response is variable.
My approach to reducing inflammation includes taking an astaxanthin supplement. I choose igennus brand for balance of total astaxanthin and cost.
I believe that if you have Bell's Palsy it is essential to obtain a steroid injection as soon as possible.
I had Bells Palsy, think it was the left side of my face, years ago. Thought I was having a stroke but everything else still worked. I don't remember any pain associated with it, emerg Dr put me on a 10 day course of steroids and it recovered completely.
