Hi Tedrog, I also started allopurinol when I started my Acalabrutinib one and a half years ago. It took almost a year for my lymphocytes to go down, so I remained on allopurinol the whole time until they were within normal limits. The thinking was that I should stay on it as long as my lymph’s were dropping to protect my kidneys. I tolerated the allopurinol very well and wasn’t given any specific instructions, but I always hydrate well anyway. I hope you do as well! Take care and best of luck to you. Julie

Unfortunately, some people can't tolerate allopurinol
Neil
Hi Neil, yes it is strange; I was answering his question but in the same feed. I got an email from Health Unlocked stating that since I’d posted about Allopurinol before I might be able to give him support in that area. I just replied in that same email. Confusing. Thanks for the heads up.
yes. I take the allopurinol with my venetoclax I believe to protect my kidneys! Great drug!!
