I just heard that there was a study of folks with chronic kidney disease and the use of semaglutide. It revealed that semaglutide helped so much that the folks in the trial wouldn't need to go on dialysis- has anyone heard of this? I plan on asking my hubby's kidney Dr in November this question.

Chronic kidney disease
I’m aware of research that has been undertaken called the Flow trial but I understood it was looking into kidney function and Semaglutide for people with type 2 diabetes;
clinicaltrialsarena.com/new...
‘The primary endpoint was met with a statistically significant 24% reduction in the progression of kidney disease and death from kidney and cardiovascular causes among those treated with semaglutide versus the placebo.’
It’s certainly worth a discussion with your husband’s Consultant but in truth I hadn’t heard that this extended to being able to use it to replace dialysis.

My EGFR went from 60 to 88 after semaglutide. Definitely increased function. I don’t have CLL. Also no longer need BP meds and thyroid medication lowered. It is truly a miracle drug. Went from all time high weight of 212 during Covid to 138 now at 5’7. Also no more fatty liver
Wow that’s fantastic! Well done! X
Yes also non diabetic. Never had a high A1C but it even got lower. Also no real GI issues that can't be resolved with an occasional magnesium glycinate. Never had nausea or anything like that. My daughter in law as well has no significant problems and is down 45 pounds.
CKD features at the top of my GP medical records. Annoyingly uncorrectable even though all my EGFR results going back 10 years all say >90.
