Has anyone else been referred to this monitoring service post treatment? I’m between Consultant and this and feel a bit adrift! Thanks

Leeds HMDS Outreach
I'm not sure what you are asking as the Leeds HMDS is a diagnostic and scientific service offered to the UK from Leeds on blood/bone marrow samples and they offer an excellent service. Can you give a bit more detail.
I have been referred for them to oversee my ongoing monitoring/care remotely post successful treatment with O+V instead of by the local hospital. Just wondering what and how?
From their website hmds.info/diagnostic-servic....
Quote:
"Many patients with haematological malignancies do not require immediate treatment and although there is a risk that the disease will progress, this is often relatively low. The HMDS Outreach programme is designed to allow these patients to be monitored from home without the need for regular visits to hospital.
This is based on regular monitoring of blood test results and symptoms. This has been shown to be a clinically effective approach and has a high level of patient satisfaction. The programme is gradually being expanded to a wider group of patients."

It would be interesting to know how you feel about the service when you've been a recipient of it. I hope it goes well.

Thank you
You are no longer a cause for concern, this is Watch and Wait. The blood test lab is doing the watching instead of a GP or haematologist dept.
Hope you have nice long wait.
