I have CLL and in W&W and also have ET. I am 67 yrs old, fully vaccinated and otherwise in good health Tested positive yesterday for COVID. Day three of my symptoms are uncomfortable but bearable. Should I get Paxlovid?

I would. You likely will be fine but why take a chance? I’m not sure how the healthcare system works in Canada but my CLL doctor has told me to call his office if I test positive for Covid and he will prescribe Paxlovid.

Good Luck,

Mark

I took Paxlovid when in w&w a couple of years ago with no issues.

I had tested positive on Sep 29 and a doctor prescribed Paxlovid for me right away. I cut the symptoms back the next day, but they came back after I finished taking it and lasted for a few more days. My CLL doc said that my symptoms most likely would have been a lot worse without Paxlovid. I would get it if I were you.

Since you are definitely symptomatic (and not just testing positive from a random test when you feel fine), I would definitely ask your doc for treatment for Covid, whether that's Paxlovid in Canada or something else.

I would 100%. I'm in W&W and have a (pre-CLL) history of upper respiratory illnesses, including bronchitis and pneumonia. So I'm terrified of covid.

I am in W and W and had COVID in August last year and managed to get Paxlovid. I would take it

Am in very successful treatment with Zanibrutinib/Brukensa. Tested positive for Covid during the winter and per advice notified my primary doctor immediately. Had rx for Paxlovid in my within 2 hours. Was moderately ill (fever, etc) for a a few days and not myself for close to 10 though I tested negative in 5 days. I say GET THE PAX!

I had Covid last week and was immediately put on Paxlovid. I recovered very quickly.

Thanks everybody. I started on Paxlovid yesterday. Feel very rough but hopefully things will turn around quicker given I am on it.

I got Covid before I knew I had CLL but probably did have it because I got enlarged nodes after the jab. Dr sent me paklovid. Only thing I hated was I had to stop the bp med while taking it.

On active monitoring, got COVID last Christmas - felt pretty rough but got Paxlovid in early stages. Tasted horrible but did shorten its likely progress. No recurrence 🤞
