Hi. I just got over having COVID and my Oncologist prescribed the lower dose of Paxlovid because I am taking Zanubrutinib. The lower dose is 2 pills instead of 3 and is usually given to people with kidney problems. I was told that one of the ingredients in paxlovid can increase the effects of zanubrutinib so I was given the lower dose of paxlovid. Anyone else have this happen? I did recover fine .

paxlovid for covid
HiI am surprised that your doctor hasn't stopped your zanubrutinib. I have had covid 5 times and both my onology team and the consultant virologist all told me to stop my alcalibrutinib immediately due the the risk of a PE. My platelets are steady at 120 but covid pushes platelets down so stopping Acalabeutinib helps maintain platelets levels. May zanu doesn't have the same effect
Wow, covid 5 times. You must be the record holder among CLL folk to have had it that many times 😀.
Hi, I am 60 diagnosed stage 4 nearly 4 years go, so straight to transfusion a d O+I. I stay at home dad to my now 7 and 5 yr olds and my wife flys a lot, thus once I got to uMRD I returned to a full pre covid pre CLL life style. Only hospitalised once with Delta in Nov 21, the other 4 I managed the symptoms with paracetamol. I have Paxlovid in the cupboard just in case.. but so far my covid infections have been less intrusive then the possible side effects of Paxlovid. I am fortunate that my bloods are done monthly, flow done every 6 months and I have monthly calls with my consultant.
I am on Venetoclax and Paxlovid is listed as a conflicting medication. Instead of the latter, when I contracted Covid for the first time last week, I was given a half hour ‘injection’ - which was in fact a short infusion.
