I have started with a bad cold with a sore throat, cough and temperature of 37.9 and a low pulse and fast heart rate. Just been put on antibiotics for chest infection. I'm back on watch and wait but relapsing CLL. Any advice? Thank you

Fever and low pulse and high heart rate
Watch the pulse ox (what is 92% now) - if it goes below 90%, call the doc again.
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate - warm fluids. Your heart rate might be showing some dehydration, and even if not, with a cold and sore throat, you're gonna want to keep fluids high.
Sit in the sun today for a little while and air out your house.
I'd encourage warm green tea with raw honey and ginger...and I'd get some chicken or miso soup to sip on...
And relax and try to feel better...and take that pulse ox every few hours...
When we are sick, our heart rate can increase but with infection it’s important to keep an eye on it because an elevated heart rate, fever (or low temperature) and reduced b/p can indicate sepsis. I’ve had sepsis twice and you do feel generally very unwell with it. There’s every chance you simply have a chest infection but it’s important to monitor your levels. If you have any doubts and continue to feel more unwell, seek medical advice.

Thank you Newdawn. I keep checking. Will update on here later x
Hope you’re feeling a lot better today Kris. Thinking about it I’m a little puzzled when you say you have a low pulse yet your pulse meter is registering 109?
‘The pulse rate is a measurement of the heart rate, or the number of times the heart beats per minute. As the heart pushes blood through the arteries, the arteries expand and contract with the flow of the blood.’
I’m always guided by the pulse oximeter to check levels.

Do you get a rash all over your body with sepsis? X
No not necessarily but it can happen. Skin is more likely to be cold, clammy, possibly pale or mottled. But symptoms differ. I found the major symptoms to be high pulse rate, lowered b/p, raised temperature, reduction in urine output and just feeling generally lousy! It’s essentially an extreme reaction to infection and there’s 3 stages. I’m not suggesting for one minute you have it but we have to be vigilant.

Yes I've rang the Dr and I've got an appointment at 4pm, I've now developed a rash everywhere. Will see What he says. Thank you x
Wishing you better very soon!

Your oxygen saturation is low and likely that's the reason of the high pulse. The low temperature is a sign that reminds me of covid too. If your hemoglobin oxygen levels drop further, seek help.
