Low pulse rate and CLL

Have noticed for a while now that if/when I get up during the night, I can feel my heart beating. We do check our blood pressure with a home testing machine. My pulse rate has never been particularly high usually in 60s but this morning it was in the high 40s. Just wondering if CLL could have something to do with this. I will ask my consultant next week. I don't feel dizzy or have fainting episodes. Both my parents died from heart related conditions. Dad was 73 and mum 67, I shall be 68 in July!!

This is probably nothing but definitely something to check with your Dr next week.

If you've previously always been super fit then your pulse may be lower than the normal but genetics plays a part. My resting pulse is only 56 despite being very unfit but my super fit daughter has a pulse of just 43 and that's her normal. Worries every Dr she sees though!

Please let us know what your Dr says.

Thank you Jackie, I have always been fit, swim at least half a mile most morning or I did before Covid19. We walk on average about 4 miles most days. Will check though and thanks again.

My pulse rate is low, it sits around 50. I think its because I am a highly trained athlete, my wife says its because of my congenital dullness.

I never knew what my pulse rate was and have never had a doctor call it to my attention. I only learned it was low before an infusion of rituximab I had at md anderson. My pulse was evidently too low for my infusion. My infusion nurse had me run around the halls to get my pulse rate up. lol

I do not have any symptoms of bradycardia of which I am aware and cant tell if my low pulse rate is a good thing or a bad thing. I plan to ask my internist when I see him in August. He discusses my blood pressure with me regularly, so I assume if my pulse rate was a concern he would bring it up, but he never has.

Ibrutinib raised my blood pressure about 15 points. I lost ten pounds during my covid confinement, by the hardest, and that improved my bp a few points. I hope to lose ten more pounds and drop another 5 points or so on my bp. My bp was borderline high before ibrutinib. I am on bp meds now that keep it in range.
