Also my hubby picks my other granddaughters sister up from nursery. I’m the one with CLL. Could that affect me ?
It is a live vaccine. I have no idea if it is a risk to us with CLL.
I remember having it, at school, about 58 ya. Quite painful, as I recall.
I think I read it some were that if you are immune compromised you have to stay clear ? As a live vaccine can affect you ?
I know live vaccines are not for us CLL'ers, but l can't find anything online, to say that they are a danger to us, if someone has one. I'll have another look online.
Thank you , I’ll look it up you just have to be so careful, I did ask my Daughter in law to ask the question today as the baby is only 6 weeks old . ☺️

Not exactly what you are looking for, but there is some interesting information on there.
Both my daughters had BCG as babies, certainly within a couple of weeks of birth and there was no issues with it that I can remember. I had an aunt who claimed to have TB in her kidneys and so I had the girls vaccinated "just in case." You may be immune to it yourself if you had BCG earlier in your life. I went through this with chicken pox, I had to have an antibody test and if I hadn't any immunity I would have been given the injection. Ironically that was when I was working at the cancer centre I am now a patient at.
No...you will be fine. I never had warnings about that. Been around lots of newborns.
Here's a useful fact sheet from the NHS:

I live with somebody who has a weakened immune system. If I have the vaccine, is there a risk that I could infect them?
The BCG vaccine does not give you TB. If you live with someone who has a weakened immune system, you cannot give them TB from having the vaccine.
and a document explaining "shedding" of injected vaccines:

Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) for tuberculosis is a live vaccine rarely used in the U.S.
BCG and Vivotif are used to prevent a bacterial infection. All others are used to prevent viral infections.

I was told by an infectious disease doctor to avoid changing diapers for my grandchildren for 2 months after they receive the live vaccines, such as MMR, OPV, Rotavirus. BCG is commonly used as a treatment for bladder cancer. It is put directly into the bladder. The patient is told to use a separate bathroom if possible on the day of treatment and to use bleach to clean the toilet each time after use on that day. That is for the protection of the patient and everyone in the household. In that case it is possible to get a systemic infection, although it is rare. The dose of BCG for bladder cancer is much higher than the dose in the vaccine.
Don't know how contact with people who have had live vaccines would affect us. I do remember years ago my late father in law had a form of blood cancer (don't know which one) but we were told not to be near him after live travel vaccinations. Might be better to err on the safe side and stay away.
