Hi Dotty,
If you are concerned about sleeping tablet drug interactions with ibrutinib, check using this site: drugs.com/drug-interactions...

Thankyou ... I know I can take temazepam but concerned about adiction. I want maybe a herbal one is compatible with Ibrutinib. Many of them are CYA3A inhibitors. wich affect the metabolisim of ibrutinib. I will look again on drugs.com but but it usually only refers to pharmaceutical drugs.
Make sure you get sunlight in your eyes first thing in the AM to help reset your sleep cycle. This is the #1 most important thing you can do. I have a "full spectrum" light I can use if weather is bad, or I am too ill to want to sit outside for 15-30 minutes first thing.
You can also consider a very low dose melatonin supplement taken an hour or so before bedtime, since our melatonin production decreases as we age. This will not interact with the ibrutinib. Start with a very low dose initially if you are considering it, like 1 mg. After a week, if there's little or no effect, you can increase by 1mg/night for another week. More is not necessarily "better" and can give you disturbing dreams/nightmares, so the slowly increasing doses are important. If you slowly work up to 10mg a night after a few months and it doesn't help, this would be a wash. It won't work for everyone, but I have had a few >65 year old patients over the years tell me it worked for them. And the doses varied. Some were fine on 1mg, some needed more. But starting slowly is the thing to do. And make sure you aren't doing anything "major" afterwards, since rarely people become sleepy in less than an hour. There's no addiction potential, and no "hangover effect" like an antihistamine or sleeping pill might have.
