Navage?

Many of us (most?) suffer from sinus issues and we have our own tools to deal with these issues. My weapons of choice are Saline spray followed by Flonase before I go to bed. Works pretty well except for right now during allergy season.

However, I've been hearing many advertisements for the Navage nasal irrigation system. Anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts?

I’ve been using it for three years. I use it twice daily, once with the salt pods and once with salt pods and budesonide. Have had minimal sinus issues since I started using it, I highly recommend it.

Hi!

Interesting, I had this with child no 2.

Have you ever considered cleansing your sleep environment, bed, pillow, duvet, sheets etc of HOUSE DUST MITE?

I did this for said child. It worked!

Navage was recommended to me by an ENT about 4 years ago. It truly works. I highly recommend it. Hope it works for you too!

I have been struggling with sinus issues for years, especially at bedtime. I have to be more diligent with my use of a sinus rinse. I will try your system of salt spray and Flonase. Thank you.

it works great for me except for right now with Spring pollen. But normally it cleans me out and I sleep like a baby.

Nasal rinse products are great for (temporary) relief from sinus related issues, and I was a regular user of neti pots even prior to my CLL diagnosis.

There are many other products available that are less expensive than Navage, e.g. Neil Med (neilmed.com/usa/)

That being said my CLL and transplant team very strongly recommended against using any nasal rinse system due to the high risk of infection because of using non-sterile water, or improper cleaning and storage of the neti pot.

Here is a recent case of a fatality attributed to nasal rinse usage:

There also are some nasal sprays available, that hopefully might have lower risk of infection:

You could only use distilled water, or boil tap water and use after cooling, but keeping the system sterile is the bigger challenge.

So I would recommend caution even though these are quite effective.

The NeilMed can be sanitized by microwaving it for two minutes with water inside.

Nasal rinse is great; Navage less so because it’s harder to clean than most and traps bacteria. I’m a NeilMed diehard and have been for many years. Simply microwave the device with water in it to clean it and replace every three months.
