I started Venclexta 2 weeks ago (ramping up from 20mg to 100mg today).
Lately I suffer from a painful reflux . I used to suffer from reflux in the past but treated it successfully .
Is it the V or just a coincidence.

I think it might be, a couple of people on here reported it. I get it too, never suffered with reflux before but this can be really uncomfortable and painful.
I was prescribed Lansoprazole but I tried to figure out the foods that cause it as I wanted to avoid taking yet another pill. It seems it's anything spicy in my case so I stopped eating spicy foods and it has helped. I haven't started the medication yet as it seems to be in check in my case for now.
yes - prescribed Lansaprozole which didn’t agree with me - moved onto omeprazole - which was fine
I changed my larger meal to lunch time, had tiny portions at dinner with no seconds, and nothing after dinner. Some foods were difficult for me to eat, such as tomatoes, any bakery item (I could eat home baked items but nothing from a store). I can drink milk, so I would have milk with a meal.
I also switched to an acid free coffee if you’re a coffee drinker. I had to give up my favorite orange spice tea sadly. But anything to do without the heartburn!
I’ve always had issues with reflux and have been off and omeprozole also. I am also ramped up today to 10”mg on venclexta. This medication seems to deepen the effects. Bland foods, not lying down fir 2 hours minimum after eating and I’ve found placing a roll under my mattress to angle my head upright helps when it’s bedtime. Good luck!
I didn’t have acid reflux for years, but it came back with a bit of a vengeance when I started Venetoclax. I adjusted for awhile with some of the habits others have mentioned above as well taking pepsid and making personal food changes that are triggers for me and it hekped. Recently, I’ve noticed it creeping up again, usually happens 30-90 min after I take my dose. Making sure I am not eating till full and drinking plenty of water with my dose and eating nothing after 8 pm helps a lot too!
I'm not sure if your a coffee drinker but I definitely am! I made the switch to decaf. coffee during my treatment. I was not excited about this change but knew it had to be done. Apparently caffeine made my reflux/ heart burn worse while taking Venteclax. I was prescribed Omeprazole and tried my best to eat 4 small meals during the day. It made a world of difference for me. I changed back to my regular coffee after I got off Venteclax and I'm a happy camper. 😊 Hope this helps.
