Does anyone know if Simply Orange Pulp-Free Orange Juice includes Seville oranges in the oranges it uses? It's made by the Coca-Cola company, it looked (from their web page) that they used oranges from a variety of countries. I emailed them and received no answer, finally called them & asked them (& told them why I was trying to find out); after being on hold, I was told they couldnt tell me because it was "proprietary information". Shortly afterwards I received and email from them stating the same.
I was using a different orange juice while on inbrutinib about 6 years ago; and now on pirtobrutinib & I assume it has the same restrictions.

IMO there would be no reason for an orange juice manufacturer to include a bitter taste to orange juice, and then would need to add lots of sugar to make it palatable.

In their Guidance Notes for “The Jam and Similar Products Regulations 2003,” The Food Standards Agency states “ The Regulations require as a general rule that jam, extra jam, jelly, extra jelly. marmalade, jelly marmalade and sweetened chestnut purée have a sugars content of at least 60%.”

The ingredients listed for Simply Orange Pulp-Free Orange Juice does not include any added sugar. So that would suggest that there is no bitter orange used.

The reason for excluding grapefruit and bitter orange is that these will inhibit an enzyme called CYP3A4 that is needed for the dietary process that removes the drug from your body in a predictable way. So consuming a varying or unknown amount of those inhibitors may make your body retain too much of the drug and cause stronger side effects.
Some patients that must take another drug that contains known amount of a CYP3A4 inhibitor can get a carefully calculated reduced dosage of Ibrutinib (or its cousins Acalabrutinib & Zanubrutinib) or reduced dosage of Venetoclax or Paxlovid.
This is done for some patients on a strong anti fungal medicine and some heart medications.

Pirtobrutinib carries the same restriction on Grapefruit and bitter orange
Current treatment with strong cytochrome P450 (CYP) 3A4 (CYP3A4) inducers and/or strong P-glycoprotein (P-gp) inhibitors. Because of their effect on CYP3A4, use of any of the following within 3 days of study treatment start or planned use during study participation is prohibited:
Pirtobrutinib in Relapsed or Refractory B-cell Malignancies: A Phase 1/2 Study ... All patients taking LOXO-305 should not consume grapefruit or grapefruit
One of my daily drinks is Floridas Best OJ and when I started Calaquence, I emailed them and told them why I was asking and got a reply saying that their OJ did not contain Seville Oranges. Supposedly Sevilles are very bitter and commonly used in Marmalade, which we are not supposed to consume. Later, surprisingly, I got some coupons in the mail from Floridas Best for their OJ.
You would be best advised to avoid it completely. Pulp free factory made orange juice is the worst thing you can drink. Just buy oranges and juice them yourself if you want.
