If you haven’t seen it, here is a interesting study done at the James Center at Ohio State University. Dr. Woyach co-led the study and is also heading up the clinical trial that I have been in since 2019 (I/O; V/I/O).
I'm from the UK and aged 61. I've been on Pirtobrutinib since October 2022. I've had very few side effects and the ones I have had have been negligible. For me, response time was very slow in clearing the disease in my Bone Marrow. Pirtobrutinib is not yet approved in the UK so got mine for compassionate use.
Hopefully it will soon become available for all CLL patients, fingers crossed.
Thanks for your comments. It takes a little longer on the single drug therapy “ibs” to lower the absolute lymphocyte count, but you will get there. Glad the side effects are minimal. That is huge. I hope Pirtobrutinib is approved everywhere for CLL. Headed your way next month. Going to your neighbor next door (Ireland). Wishing you the very best on Pirtobrutinib. Take care
Thanks for sharing this article. I have been on it since March with great results. In fact instead of putting me on the O my Doctor put me on this drug and then the V. So far all is good just a little neutropinia but everything else is great.
Wow! That is so great. Glad you are doing well and not having many side effects. A lot of people on this site will be happy to hear that. Wishing you the very best.
Thank you for sharing that. Gives me great hope for down the road in my future treatment options. Currently half way through O & V first treatment. More future treatment options the better in my mind.John
They certainly have made great strides in last 10years from just chemo to targeted meds which are getting better and better. A bright future for those of us afflicted with this disease.
Thanks for responding. I think you are on a good treatment and hopefully your side effects have been minimal. Wishing you the very best on the rest of your journey.
