Box of Rapid Antigen Tests

This morning I received completely out of the blue a box of LFT Tests (I hadn't requested them as I already have a box that I have yet to use). I also still have my Priority PCR test kit that luckily I haven't yet had to use since I had Covid 19 at Christmas. I haven't received a letter or email from NHS, are other CLL/CEV people receiving these kits before the "free" test kit service ends on 31st March?

Interestingly I’ve just posted elsewhere that I received one too and hadn’t ordered it. It occurred to me that the CEV group may have been sent one before the free LFT’s end. I also had Covid at Christmas. Connected?Anyone else received one?

Maybe it’s a late Christmas present for those of us who got Covid for Christmas Dave! 😉

Newdawn I ordered one on Saturday and received two this morning. Was slightly surprised and checked they were both for me. I have heard from a friend that she knows of others who have received them, all very welcome but would have been useful to have been informed.

One arrived out of the blue today. A neighbour said Boots testing kits are £17! Don’t know if she’s correct but some list somewhere is remembering us. Perhaps NHS Digital feels guilty!!!!!

Yes Boots are charging £17 for 4 tests! That’s £4.25 a test which I think is blatant profiteering. They will cost pence to make in China and even with shipping, duty, mark up, VAT etc I cannot see why they should be much more than about £1.50 each.

Wow. The general public will stop testing then.

What is even worse is the cost of a certified LFT Test to travel. These range from c£35 to the £50 each than my son and his girlfriend had to pay to go back to Canada.

How strange- I received one last Friday with no prior request or any separate email. Have already received my Priority kit and like you assumed they were sending out spare stock to CEV persons. At least they aren't being " binned " !

I received a Rapid Antigen Test yesterday. This is the first time I have received anything, did not receive a priority test or any letters re covid. Yet again I struggles to understand the system and I’m about to try and get the 5th / spring booster, should be an interesting process.

I tried ordering on line for the last two days and it told me there weren't any - try again later. So I was very surprised to receive one through the post yesterday afternoon

Not received one yet, but I believe a lot of CEV have had them in the last day or two.

Have not received a box as yet, but it would be most useful as am running low. Have decided to buy a few from Boots online but they are quite expensive. I have tried numerous times to order from NHS website but every time it says none are available, Very frustrating. Antony

Anthony keep trying they appear at various times throughout the day.

Anthony I would be interested to know what the Boots ones are like ( same manufacturer as NHS ) because I don’t want to order from lots of different sources, as I did with masks, to find a make I was comfortable with.

Collette. I actually tried one today and very easy to use. I am not totally sure as yet whether they can be used for NHS reporting purposes. Antony

Thank you. My phone is so ancient I can’t access track and trace, but will that be closed down, along with everything else 🙄

Same here. Was a bit confused as ordered a box last week which arrived on Saturday then another one delivered yesterday. Think they must be sending a box to everyone deemed at risk.

I have a stock of 4 or 5 boxes as up to Xmas I was testing everyone who came to the house. However since my 3rd infection in Jan I have stopped regular testing unless I show any symptoms.

I got one by post , yesterday, having scrabbled around for a week trying to get one locally. I am getting through LFTs at speed, having had Covid now for 11 days, and been positive for at least 9. Started as a cold, now heading towards bronchitis. Received a Sotrovimab infusion last week - no obvious change to what I would describe as a very heavy cold plus fatigue.

Hi Yes I received a box too and wondered why as I hadn't ordered one. Maybe it's part of the government plan for winding down on testing.

Forward thinking for once ! Thank you

Yes me too, yesterday, quite surprised as it’s just a couple of weeks ago that I received my priority pcr.

I got a box this morning - hadn't ordered any as we've got a reasonable store. But it's good to have extras.

I received a LFT kit yesterday. This is reassuring because it must mean my file at last has been included in the immunosuppressed listing, after NHS Digital corrected their software error which missed many of us off.
