Both my primary and my CLL medical providers had agreed that I could get the new PCV20 pneumonia vaccination. But I was just informed by the pharmacy supervisor of supermarkets in Florida, that supermarket pharmacists may not yet inject PCV20, - but with a prescription a bottle of PCV20 may be dispensed for injection in a medical office. Approval for injection by pharmacists in supermarkets is expected. I had previously received most other vaccinations by pharmacists in supermarkets.

We received ours at a CVS here in FL back in July of this year.

Thanks for the heads up! Always good to have a plan B in place. I am also ready to get PCV20 but wanted to wait until after my BCC skin cancer surgery in case further treatment needed. All looks good so will see who will give me the vaccine next week. Should be interesting
You were informed by someone working in *that particular chain* that *their particular chain* had not yet been authorized by their Corporate office, and consequently would not have the meds shipped to them/available to patients just yet.
The Florida statue is written such that any FDA approved vaccine may be given (they had amendments for early Covid EAU's in 2020). I worked in FL for decades, and just looked this up to verify. My understanding is initially there was a specific vaccine list, which was later amended to be "any FDA approved vaccine in adults".
I received prevnar 20 this year.
