Evusheld; emerging Omicron sub variants

From what I understand, Evusheld was being piloted as early as January 2021.

From what I understand, the sub variants are derivatives of BA 4 and BA 5 and very highly transmissible as well as clever at escaping immunity.

With high contagion, the virus has become milder. Let’s hope this milder pattern continues with whatever sub variants come to dominate.

This next phase will not last forever (I have read predictions of a few months). In the meantime, science is soldiering on to protect us.

The FDA, CDC, WHO, and NHS seem to be feeling their way (at times tentatively) re: best practices for protection. They sometimes get it wrong.

Take it one day at a time!

Best,

Yuck

I don't even know what's going on in the present with all this, how could I know what is going to happen in the future. I gave up. Seems like a futile endeavor to try keeping up with the virus and it's mutations in progress.

True.

Futile and maybe not worth it.

The future is impossible to know. Perhaps, it’s better to assume it will be better.

In the meantime, I found a comfortable and effective mask, one thing I can control.

Hi thanks for the post I do try to keep up but it is moving so fast it’s difficult. Would you mind sharing what comfortable mask you have found?

Hi,

I ordered from Amazon a pack of ten KN95’s, made in the U.S for $14.99. They are Breatheze, highly recommended by my neighbor, a relatively small woman. Mine are arriving tomorrow. My N95’s are not comfortable. I prefer straps over the ears, not one around the ears and the other around the neck.

The extensive online reviews are very specific and positive. They say it is a very comfortable mask, easy to breathe, etc.

It is easy to “see” wearing it because it doesn’t stick out too far, according to my neighbor.

Hope you find what works best for you!
