The Path to Recovery

Just a little bit of encouragement to fellow O+V people. In the months up to treatment I lost all my muscle strength (lost 10 kg) and couldn’t get up the stairs in one go. I’m now in cycle 3 and cannot believe how much better I feel! Yes I took it very slowly and yes it wasn’t easy (cannot shake off upper respiratory tract infections) but I did it all the way to the top. Best wishes to all CLLers x

Great encouragement, thank you. I take Spa Tone iron tonic each day, it was approved by my Heamatologist. I was struggling to walk up even slight inclines before treatment but now with Acalabrutinib and my Spa Tone, I climb hills quite comfortably.

Fabulous! These drugs unlock a future and I’m so grateful for them!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us…we know all too well it wasn’t easy but I feel it is so very important that we share our experiences with others in our community as it offers support on every level. We are on the same journey but possible different paths. May you long continue to feel better remembering each day is a gift and thank you again for sharing.

Lovely photo, Carolly. So glad you're feeling much better now, and can get up these hills. :-)

I think you're on Lose Hill, in the Peak District? It's neighbour Mam Tor is one of our favourite hills (and not too demanding if we park in the layby halfway up it).
