Editing glitch

This issue has arisen in the last week or so.

When I edit a reply I find that afterwards any weblink in the text has been lost, replaced by "original text".

I reported this bug to HU over a week a go and HU have confirmed that they can replicate it. I haven't had an update on when it will be fixed.

My work around is to open the post in two tabs and copy back the links from the second tab after editing the reply in the first tab.

Thanks for reporting this Neil. I resorted to salvaging the link from internet history - if still there.

Thankfully, this bug has been fixed.

Concurrently, replies/comments longer than 7,000 characters can no longer be edited and reposted unless you first reduce their size below 7,000 characters. You are warned when you submit a long reply/comment that "Comments can have a maximum 7,000 characters". HU indicated that they would introduce this change after they limited posts to a maximum of 7,000 characters. You can exit the long reply without losing it.

Thanks Neil.

Let's hope this bug doesn't make as many come-backs as Herbie (it's already made one).

7,000? that's more characters than appear in the Hobbit trilogy!
