Text from gov.uk confusion

I received this text from Gov.uk which seems to suggest I am vulnerable. I haven’t received the original letter although I self registered and heard nothing. Does the text mean I’m on the list now and should get recognition by supermarkets for delivery slots or us it just another mix up?

I received the same text this morning..... I believe only people at high risk get it...No one else that I know has received this text....

I received a text yesterday, saying that I was high risk and would soon receive a letter from the government stating That I was high risk.......

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t received any other texts or letters. I’ll wait and see if I get the vulnerable letter or get contacted by the supermarkets. It all seems a mess. Mags

They're all over the place at the moment.... I'm sure you'll receive them soon...... You can register online as high risk... ww.nhs. uk You could also phone your doctor surgery..... They have contacts for local people to help get groceries and prescriptions etc...

I have still received no text or letter - despite speaking to GP and heamotology dept. I registered on the govt website as soon as it was set up - received response saying my details had been passed to the NHS. However e mail received from Sainsbury's yesterday apparently govt have informed them I am extremely vulnerable and can have one of the priority delivery spots. At least someone has been informed - even if that is not me. Strange .

Got the email from Sainsbury's, but for some reason, it won't accept all of my details on the registration form..... I've emailed the CEO...

Went out shopping this morning..... I have enough for two weeks..

I'm now back in my cocoon..

When I set the account up - first it said e mail not recognised as at risk - just kept re-entering the parts that showed up in red (although I knew they were correct) and eventually the system gave in and accepted me.

Ditto! It was a lot of messing about, but I have managed to foil their dastardly gremlins.... No slot until next week..... That's fine.. I have plenty in store.

Thanks for posting that is good information.

I live in Scotland and received the letter on Saturday, much later than PHE sent them out.

Really keen to get a slot with Sainsbury but my e mail still not being recognised. To be fair to Sainsbury they say that Scottish customers will be contacted as soon as possible. In the meantime reluctantly asked for a free home delivery, it arrived this morning and I am suitably impressed. A very good selection of essentials. Well done to all who made it possible. I intend stopping these deliveries as am sure home shopping slots will be available soon. Will give any food not used to my local food bank.

good luck everyone Alex.

There seems to be a problem between hm gov and Sainsbury's. After registering on .gov I got an email from Tesco but not Sainsbury, and on phoning the latter a week later was told I'm not yet on the system. I live in SE England, 8 miles from a big Sainsbury's.

If you can't get an early delivery slot despite having theoretical priority, try ordering after 11 pm.

Hi

Things are starting happen now I think.

Just had a text informing me that my name has been passed to the supermarkets,

if I have shopped with any of them before they will get in touch with me. if not other supermarkets will contact me.

Quite confident now and very relieved. I have sent text stopping the free food delivery service.

thanks again Alex.

Hi I received text first and letter followed. To receive a text you must be on a high risk list somewhere. In your position I would call my GO and haemotology department for advice.

I have had 2 letters the second not the first asked me to register. Registration may be enough to give you supermarket priority.

I have also received a call from my local council to ask if I need anything this morning. You could call them with your queries too.

Good luck

Ann

If you self registered it will take several days for any reply, if any. A simple text telling you that they’ve passed on your name etc in to the GP and supermarkets. If you have registered with a supermarket already they then will send you a message.

Long shielding letter you will not get unless acutely clinically vulnerable, where most people had a letter. It was the vulnerable who were left out of the list. It’s a waiting game but sadly lockdown continues.

It does seem to be taking time for everything to get 'joined up', if it ever does. We've had the NHS letter, but no texts from Gov.uk. Despite registering on their website.

Tesco couldn't find us on the list that they have received from the government either. Tesco did say that they fully understand that the lists they had were not 'comprehensive'. Meaning, they have had a lot of people contacting them?

Anyway, the very nice lad on their help line ( 0800 917 7359) has manually put us on their priority delivery slot list. Checked today and we have booked our first priority online delivery for this Saturday. Result.

Of note, I was pretty much forced to go out and get shopping earlier this week. With a bit of foresight and 'just in case', I had a Morrisons 'click and collect' booked a couple of weeks ago.

Morrisons' website states the customer will not have to leave the car, just show ID through the car window. Staff will load shopping into boot. All easy and, more importantly, safe. I thought.

But no. The customer now has to pack the shopping. So I had to get into decontamination kit, mask, gloves, etc. and leave the car to pack myself. Not what I was expecting. The 'click and collect' area is a section of the very busy car park. Had to do the full decontamination routine when I got home, along with car. Not too keen on doing that again, my wife neither, who was understandably concerned. So priority delivery has arrived just in time.

Great sympathy for all those who can't yet get a priority slot. Please don't give up.

Davy.

Forgot to mention....make sure the email address used to register with Gov.uk is the same you have used with any supermarket accounts you have. Asda and Tesco told me they contact those on their own database first.

Thanks for the tel no for Tesco. I've registered with Gov.org but had nothing re priority slots. I'll give them a bell.
