That's not at all surprising, because CLL inhibits plasma cell production of immunoglobulins (antibodies). The condition is called hypogammaglobulinemia which is a mouthful :)

The issue is how low and will it continue to drop? Depending on how well the rest of your (compromised with CLL) immune system works, you may or may not begin to have more and more serious infections, in which case, you might qualify for immune boosting IgG infusions provided from blood and plasma donations from blood donors.

Your IgG is under 400, so, depending on where you live, you would probably qualify for IgG infusions, but you also need a history of serious bacterial infections. Many of us manage quite well with low IgG, lower than yours. Others might need hospital admission for IV antibiotics. Having a healthy neutrophil count reduces your risk.

Following an NIH CAR-T infusion in 2016, her oncologist said to get an IVIG infusion when her IgG fell below 400. Over the past 5 years this has happened every 2-3 months. She has had neither side effects nor infections.

My IgG level is around 340 as of this spring. So far no infusions. My only significant observation is that I am getting more susceptable to insect bites which take several months to clear up. But so far, am not getting the flu or infections.

Same for husband. His IGG in 250 range and the other two below 25 however only have 2 bouts of pneumonia a month apart he is now getting IVIG. It was the two pneumonias that triggered the treatments. Mark he also has terrible reaction to bites.

Thanks for the reply. Suggest you look at my posting of today regarding bug bites. They were not bug bites after all but a rare skin disorder called Mucha-Habermann disease, also known as pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta or PLEVA. The lesions most often appear on the trunk and the arms and legs. Lesions tend to develop in small groups. The doctor took a biopsy of one of the bumps and I will see him again in early September for a confirmed diagnosis. He thought is may be related to my degraded immune system as a result of my leukemia - CLL.
