Creatinine elevated on CLL

Hi!
That is important!
Is this a one off rise or is it a trend over 3 or more tests?
Your GP or family Dr will be the place to start seeking understanding why this is happening.
As we age our renal function does deminish. Many processes including disease can affect the Creatinine adversely.

Apply this equation to address, age, gender and weight effects.
It is worth having a vegan diet for a few days before another blood test.
In any event - get yourself checked.
Hope it works out.

I agree with Jig to have it checked out. My previous oncologist kind of dismissed my concerns about my rising creatine levels, I was told it was probably because I was dehydrated which indeed can be the reason. Unfortunately that was not the case for me. A GRF test would be helpful. Did they test your urine for protein? A protein/creatine ratio test would also be useful. Hopefully it is nothing serious.
I’ve been on Acalabrutinib since May 2021. I started to have a problem with raised creatine levels shortly after starting treatment. I have to travel 90 minutes to the clinic and that changed my drinking pattern - I drink 2.5 litres per day. I read on this site that raised levels can be caused by dehydration so I now make sure I drink 750ml of water before going into the clinic and that did the trick - my levels returned to the normal range. Of course we are all different but hydration before testing worked for me.
My creatinine was recently high out of no where and they had me retest a few days later. I was told to drink a lot of water. I also cut out beef and lowered animal protein. I lowered the number by .3, which is a lot, in 3 days. In have kept drinking water and am trying to eat vegan two meals a day. I'm getting tested again on Monday as I was recently raised from 100 to 150 mg of LP-168 (phase 1 trial drug) and it will be interesting to see where creatinine lands.
I am having similar issues. I am 8 years since CLL diagnosis (no treatment yet) with 115K WBC. (108K lymph). My Creatinine has been increasing slowly over the last 4 years. I attend NIH CLL study and they are concerned with my 1.3 +/- mg/dl. Would like me to see Nephrologist. I was told if it was a hydration concern the BUN would be higher making the BUN/Creatinine ratio higher or out of range. Mine is well in range so not a hydration problem. My Blood pressure is 120/83 and I do not have diabetes. Both these can increase Creatinine. So they don't understand why Creatinine levels are increasing. I blame the CLL but I will make an appointment with Nephrologist.
I hope you have a urologist in the mix. Constantly having UTIs can be a symptom of other serious conditions.
