Just wondering. Has anyone had a breakthrough infection after receiving Evusheld?

What a great question!Evusheld is not yet available in the U.K., but I will be very interested to see the answers you get.

Thank you for asking it,

Stay safe,

Hi there Atds - I guess the answer will eventually technically be 'yes'. I say this because it is promulgated as being 83% (?) effective from trials. That suggests that 17% risk break-through. Personally, being in the UK, I'd relish the chance to see for myself......! Handley

Joined the trial in Jan 2021 and received a single dose. Re vaccinated with a single dose on the sub-trial Feb 2022. No Covid infection so far. I believe in the US, they’re doubling up on the dose. I don’t know how others have done on the trials.

You are correct that US is doubling up on the dose.

I belong to an “Evusheld “ group and yes I have seen a few people post they have come down with Covid, however, people seem to have feared well. Very few symptoms. This is in the USA. And yes, people are getting a double dose of Evusheld now because of the new variant/omicron.I have gotten it…still taking all precautions. We will see. I am hopeful.

Yes, my husband got both doses of Evusheld and also got Covid. He also got an injection of Bebtelovimab within 24 hrs of testing positive! It was a very mild case and he felt like himself after just 5 days. Evusheld seems like the vaccines - it isn’t 100% protection, but it is meant to protect from a severe case.

I had the double Evusheld along with an IgG infusion, 6 weeks ago. My husband got covid, then I tested positive 4 days after him. We tried to isolate in our own house, but I'd already been exposed. He wears a mask everywhere, but slipped up when he saw a friend indoors, someone not in our ultra-careful pod.

I am on Paxlovid, which works best if taken within 5 days of first symptoms, I'm on the line.

I lost a day because I had to pause my treatment drugs, A & V, and I'd already taken my morning dose. Paxlovid is a 5 day pill dose, it's easy on my stomach.

I believe(?) the study about Paxlovid indicated it was 100% effective in keeping people from dyeing, not contracting it. Hey, I'll settle for that.

I think this variant is more contagious than the last ones, but possibly less severe. I also had the first round of Covid in March '19, I'd never been that sick and out of breath. My symptoms are moderate or even mild compared to that, I'm on day 4. I think I'll be fine if I do not get a bacterial lung co-infection.

Not sure where I'd be if I did not have the Evusheld & IgG.

Grateful.

I did receive the Evusheld injections late March 2022 and became Covid positive around Easter weekend. Subsequently also received Bebtolvimab within 2days of positive test. I thought I was just starting to experience allergy symptoms around Easter, that was how mild my Covid case was. So I guess I would say the Evusheld at least worked to keep me from possibly becoming severe but not totally protect me from getting the virus.

I got my first dose of Evusheld in January; 2nd on March 21st. I tested positive for COVID on April 5th. Started Paxlovid the same day ( I think I contracted COVID 3 days earlier). I felt a little off the first two days after testing positive but no major symptoms. Four days later, I felt fine. Tested negative eight days later. My take: the latest sub-variant is not that potent; combo of Evusheld and Paxlovid really works!!
