Does anyone in this great community have feedback on whether getting jabbed with EvuSheld when on Alcabrutinib/Calquence is effective and/or problematic?
I don't believe there is much evidence that there is a problem using the two treatments at the same time, In its original implementation, Evusheld was designed and effective for people that were not able to develop antibodies from COVID-19 vaccinations for any reason.

However there is mounting evidence that Evusheld is not working for some of the variants that have appeared in Nov 2022. Please see this CLL Society article (I know it is from the USA, but I believe it has valuable information for UK folks also):
The only problem I had with my last Evusheld, is the nurse didn't do a Z track and also injected too quickly, and removed the needle too quickly, and I lost a lot of the med dribbling down my leg. It takes a few seconds for large volume (i.e. over 1 ml) injections to "settle into" the space. Otherwise it just squirts right back out the hole made by the needle. And this young, unthinking nurse commented to me "oh it does that sometimes." Duh. She noticed a problem but didn't think of ways to mitigate it, or even realized her forgetting to do a Z track contributed to this. She actually said "oh I usually do a Z track but forgot." Aaagh! I now don't have the full dose and can't get another until I am due.
I am also going to insist on lying down next time. I do think "bent over" put tension on the muscle, contributing to the difficulty of the liquid staying put in the muscle. In addition to "forgot to do a Z track" and thinking a large volume injection can be rushed.
No harm in applying. If you pass screening you'll know they don't have an issue. You'll get an informed consent form giving details of your participation in the study, which you can run by your haematologist before signing up.
Had started Acalabrutinib three months ago, and got Evusheld two weeks ago. No side effect or problem with having Evusheld and being on Acalabrutinib as well. Have no idea if I have any added antibodies from the shot as in Ontario Canada we are not easily checked for antibodies.
I live in Vancouver, BC. I had my Evusheld shots done. It was injected in my hip area, left and right while lying down. I was told that it was better than in my buttocks. Who am I to argue with that! I am on Acalabrutinib, no issues. Don't know if I obtained any antibodies, I had the shots, hoping I got some protection.
I had absolutely zero side effects with each of my two evusheld doses. I'm so discouraged that they have discontinued its use in the US due to the new variants. The first dose was in the buttocks, the last dose was in the hip area.
