Has there been any reports of people with CLL on Ibrutinib, no response to 3 shots of Moderna vaccine, infected with the Omicron strain as far as symptoms, treatment , outcome, hospitalizacion, oxygenation or intubation, etc.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, this year should bring lots of health, wellbeing, happiness, joy, nd peace all over the world

Have a watch of this video, it's worth noting that the paper discussed is not peer reviewed but it is from a well known and respected source.

It does seem there is a good memory cell response in the data presented there when low antibodies are present.

Its always been said that the antibody level is just one part of the immune response and its not fully understood. I would guess one of the good things to come out of covid will be increased understanding of many things.

Of course we have deficient immune systems, who knows if you having zero antibodies means you won't have an adequate, maybe better t cell response.

Take care. I feel, in the west at any rate, we will develop significant herd immunity by Easter, probably much before, which will increase our freedoms and choices significantly. .

sadly Venetoclax affects Tcell production

So those on V should totally isolate for the time of treatment? A year or 2 of hibernation? Ouch. That's tough

I have been told to act as if I have not been vaccinated at all.. And if I want to mix with people to make sure they have tested negative for Covid beforehand.. I want to go on living after treatment and feel it is worthwhile keeping away from people til my treatment is finished and my immune system has the chance to recover a bit (12 months after finish of Obinutumazab and when venetoclax is finished) It is unfortunate that my treatment has coincided with Covid 19 so that cannot be helped

That is a very tough choice to have to make.

Those are my circumstances, with the added fact of a two-year venetoclax run completed in December 2020 (presently MRD negative, but staying on IBR due to adverse markers). I'd been trebly vaccinated with Moderna, but tested positive for COVID -19 in early November 2021. Dealt with fever-chills for a day, fatigue and a hacking cough for a few days, and then fine. No treatments. No diminution of blood oxygen. I hope you're asking out of academic interest, but if not, I wish you so benign an experience as mine if you are actually now experiencing what I refer to as taking my fourth dose of vaccine.

Hi, glad you recovered quickly! Do you know if you had Delta or Omicron?

Sorry, but I don't know.

Hi, Thanks for the useful information.

Does anyone know about corona immunity in people who usually take Ibrutinib?

Green202 -

By the time a study comes out, the variants and time since last vaccination have changed. So it's a continuously moving target. We're now beginning to face BA.4 and BA.5, yet we seldom find out which variant we test positive for on a PCR unless done at a university lab with the right instrumentation.

Elsewhere, we've seen a few people on Ibrutinib with good spike IgG response to the vaccines, and others with almost none. So there are more variables in the immune system than just treatment type or even FiSH type and IGHV mutation status.

In any case, even immuno-normal, vaccinated, and even Evusheld people still get infected. The difference is in how serious the infection.
