Hi
I’ve read a few posts where they have been giving the shringrix vaccination. Is this now available on the Nhs , as when I first enquired two years ago it was only available privately?
Thank you

Yes Jane,
It was approved at the beginning of September by NHS. In theory for 70-80 year olds but there have already been several replies/posts from younger members getting their consultant to write to GPs to get the vaccine.

Yes it is. It consists of two injections a few weeks apart. I have my first part today. I just had to ask my GP and they ordered it in for me. Hope you get yours sorted.
I'm having my first dose next week. Asked my GP about it last week, she didn't know but said she would look into it. Practice nurse phoned 2 days ago saying they had it in stock but I would have to contact my my haematologist to get approval. Phoned haema who said fine but emphasised must NOT have the live vaccine. Phoned practice nurse back straight away. All a bit of a faff especially as had to hang on the phone for 1/2 hr each time when phoning GP practice as was always at least "you are number 10 in the queue" 😤, but hey got there in the end.😃
