Most appreciated. Emma

my cll specialist did not want me to take it. he said i'm immunosuppressed and it would not work. he is having me take acyclovir instead.
CLL specialists differ with regard to whether or not we should have this non-live vaccine, with some waiting for more data. You've probably read of quite a few members who have had it anyway.
It's in short supply world wide and hopefully someone from the UK can share the I think London pharmacy that has had stock.

good morning AussieNeil, thank you so much for your reply. So sorry for my delayed response. I did a lot of research. In England you can only have the Shingrix vaccination in L
London,Hampstead Heath Pharmacy. Cost is 525£, payment in advance for 2 doses. I asked the pharmacy to send the vaccine to my hospital or GP in Worthing/West Sussex. This is unfortunately not possible. However the pharmacy would send a pharmacist to my house cost of 300£. I am not prepared to travel to London in this time of pandemic. I also contacted two hospitals in Switzerland and Germany. They do provide the vaccine payed by the government. I am a dual national Swiss/English but unfortunately not able to get vaccine in Switzerland or Germany as I am not a patient in one of their hospitals. This is very frustrating.
The following is from one Shingrex supplier in the UK.

Shingles Vaccination Service
We have a limited supply of the new shingles vaccine – Shingrix manufactured by GSK. This vaccine is imported for us under UK regulations by one of the most established medicines importers in the UK. It is not clear when the manufacturer will be able to make enough of the new non-live shingles vaccine to launch it in the UK. This vaccine is authorised in all EU member states, however, the manufacturer has only managed to launch it in three countries so far. This is because, currently the supply is considerably less than the high levels of demand for this vaccine.
For more information about the NEW shingles vaccine, visit the following official websites:
•ema.europa.eu/docs/en_GB/do... [Please read page 25 to 28: The UK/EU Package leaflet: Information for the user]
•cdc.gov/vaccines/vpd/shingl... US resource]
To manage this limited supply appropriately, we have to charge you for the full course in advance when you book your first appointment over the phone. The cost is £230 per dose (£460 for the full course of two vaccines given two months apart – no other fees). The vaccination course consists of 2 doses given 2-6 months apart.
The stock / appointment is going to be allocated on first come first serve basis.
To book an appointment, please call 020 7435 7075. We cannot arrange appointments via email.

Hallo Kwenda, thank you so much for your kind reply. Please accept my apology for replying so late. I was abroad in Switzerland. You quite rightly say the vaccine is only available in England at the Hamstead pharmacy in London. They quoted 525£ for two doses. they are not allowed to send the vaccine to my GP or hospital in Worthing. The pharmacy in London would send a pharmacist to my house at the cost of 300£. At the moment I am not ready to travel to London as we live in this pandemic.
I am a Swiss/English national. The Shingrix vaccine is available in Germany and Switzerland payed by the government!!
Unfortunately I am not able to get it as I am not a patient in one of their hospitals.
This is very frustrating. I hope you are well. I would like to thank you very much again for your kind help. kind regards Emma Fleetwood
Hi Emma,
I have been searching for Shingrix in the UK since May 2019, without success. My CLL consultant is happy for me to be vaccinated with Shingrix. The hospital pharmacy have attempted to import Shingrix , also with no success. The GSK UK website does not include Shingrix in it's supply/re-supply schedule, currently. Hampstead Health Pharmacy have supplied it in the past, they claim, and have a waiting list for whenever they acquire more.
Good luck with the search.
Michael
