Dear All, I have heard that people with CLL should have another third dose of the vaccine, which must be the same type as the first ones we had. It now seems that on top of that, in 6 months we will receive a booster. I am confused because today I got notification to turn up for a flu vaccine, and possibly a booster. Can anyon carifify the position for me. Thanks Ron

This sounds like the modus operandi as suggested by the UK. jvci Have recommended a 3rd dose of either pfeizer, moderern aor AZ. Preference for one of the first 2, but AZ if that's what is in stock where/ when given. It seems then a fourth shot, as a booster after around 6 months.
Hi, I have double checked with my consultant today. It is a 3rd vaccination which neednt be the same as before. Then as you said another jab in 6 months. It must be called a 3rd vaccine and not a booster. This is to make sure it is a full dose and not a half dose which could happen with moderna.
I am pleased. Even if I dont get a full response I live in hope that it will offer some protection.Anne uk
It's confusing isn't it!? My consultant insisted I take the Pfizer vaccine after my previous AZ doses. This is based on studies showing a mixed approach to vaccination may give good results in those with blood cancer. This is reported with links on the Blood Cancer UK website. I'm having my flu vaccine separately in a couple of weeks.
