I have enlarged lymph nodes in my neck and have had a number of sports massages without any side effects - I have just made them known (no need really!) to the masseur.
One consideration to me was the increased risk of Covid from prolonged presence next to another person.
Having said that, I accepted the risk and have had 2 massages during the pandemic with a problem.
I asked my haematologist, and he said yes, and put it in writing as well; many practitioners won't massage people with certain cancers without written permission. It is now mostly acceptable to haematologists, but best to be certain. The masseuse shouldn't massage over any swollen lymph glands.
Hi, Lymphatic drainage is a form of mild massage that helps transfer excess fluid from a swollen region to an area where the lymph nodes are functioning normally. A massage, when done correctly, can assist in everything from stress to any serious diseases. I personally enjoy having massages because they help me relax and relieve tension, and my massage therapist ( dynamicphysiotherapy.ca/ser... )has a particular ability for doing so.
