My mum starting Calquence in 10 days - be brilliant to hear positive stories :)

Also she is probably going to have an operation i

spring 2022 so interested in peoples experience of pausing treatment to have an operation

Anyone receiving care at UCH London on Calquence ?

Feel very fortunate that my mum lives within walking distance (15 mins) of the cancer treatment really makes everything much easier.

Nice to be so near to her hospital treatment centre. I`ve been on Calquence since the beginning of feb and feel so much better. Need to pace myself though and try not to do too much in one day. No side effects either which has been a blessing. Really hope you mum does well on this drug. I`m sure others here will agree how good this drug is. I can`t comment on the surgery side of things as I`ve not had that problem.

Hoping for good things for your mum.....hope she does well.

Take care.

Hi Nanasu thank you for that my mum was on 6/12 FCR last year but was considered partial treatment so now 1 year later she feels back to starting point … oral only treatments were approved as first line when she was already being treated last year . Thank you for your words of support

Hi Dazt

I started on calquence 15months ago as FCR was considered to risky given it was the start of the covid pandemic. Without treatment of some kind, I wouldn't be here now as all my numbers were heading in the wrong direction, plus additional complications like hypercalcemia made my outcomes look very bleak.

The fact that I am here now is testament to qalquence. After the initial wbc ramp up, after about 3-6 months my blood results returned to levels I hadn't seen for 14yrs of W&W

I'm back to work andI'm back cycling 150 miles a week in my spare time. It has been truly life saving.

All the best to your mum and hope she responds well to qalquence.

Duncan
