CLL for 14 years: Venclexta for 4 years: I have COVID antibodies after vaccination !!

. I am14 years into my dance with CLL and currently four years on Venclexta. My 2nd jab was 2/23/21. My first LLS draw on 4/13/21 showed 55.12 unitls/mL antibodies. My second LLS draw on 6/11/21 showed 83 units/mL antibodies. I am thrilled: they are there and have increased, four months after my vaccination. How are others doing?

So were you actually on Venclexta when you got the jabs or had you stopped before vaccination? I stopped Ibrutinib/Venclexta and then took vaccine and I got antibodies

I didn't stop my Venclexta. I'm not in a trial, but guess you might be otherwise that is a very expensive combination (I+V). I've also noticed the last year or so my IgG levels have remained pretty constant in the 500 level, so I'm wondering if long term Venclexta has taken me back to a more productive marrow production and healthier b-cells, even though my ALC is 0.5. I was MRD- when tested one year into my V, but have not lobbied to stop as my lung cancer has remained in remission since I went on V. Catnap -- what were your antibody numbers? Will be interesting to see if they increase over time as the LLS study includes a series of antibody tests.

Yes ... I just happened to have been ending my I/V clinical trial. I got UMRD at the end of first year and they repeated it again at the very end and it was still the same. Then several months later they started the vaccine . It says Ab ( IgG) Spike value>20 My hematologist wrote great response. I don't know much about all this but I took it that it was good.

I believe there are two ways of looking for vaccine produced antibodies and your IgG test is different from our "Semi-Quant Total AB" test that LLS is specifying for its study. I'm sure others will chime in with more information here. I think of them as the IgG vs RBD, where the LLS study test talks of "Antibodies agains the sars-cov-2 spike protein receptor binding domain (RBD)."

Wow, congrats! I have been on Venetoclax for three years and only have 13 units/ml of antibodies after two doses of Pfizer. I measured 13.6 two weeks after the second dose and then I measured 13.0 after two months. My understanding is that a normal person has 250 to 2500 units/ml of antibodies.
