When I was first diagnosed in 2015 my IgG was way above the normal high.Dr said it may be “reactive” (I assumed he meant reacting to infections or allergies).
After I started treatment with BTK inhibitors, the incidence of infections reduced markedly, yet my IgG was still high but within normal range. Blood test was ordered and found I have monoclonal IgG.
Wonder if this is part and parcel of CLL? Or am I supposed to look out for something else?
BTW my Labcorp results was 0.4, negative response to Moderna vaccines 😰

A monoclonal IgG with CLL is relatively common and mostly not a problem.
You haven't given the value of the monoclonal but if your total IgG is still in the normal range then it's almost certainly at a typically low level for people with CLL.
What a relief to know that monoclonal IgG is relatively common. My current M-Spike is 0.2g/dL as shown in above attached "Protein Immunofix Electrophoresis" result.
I'll start another post on "decline of IgG with BTK" as I couldn't attach any screen shot here. Appreciate you sharing your professional knowledge with me.
As my CLL progressed my IgGs increased. My hematologist said my CLL was producing a lot of abnormal IgGs, he never called it monoclonal IgG. Once I started treatment including a clinical trial my IgGs went down into normal range.
Thanks Elle. Good to know that Ibrutinib brought your IgG to normal level. That may explained why i seemed to get more infections when my IgG was high; they were probably abnormal.
