Post vaccination - High pulse, fever

Hi, post vaccination with Astrazenenca, my mother had heart pulse raised from 81 (pre vaccination) to 108 in half an hour post the shot. She developed fever (101 deg F) this morning and 102 deg F currently (pulse at 110). I am giving her paracetamol. Spoke to the physician and may have to go to go for heart checkup yesterday. Has anyone else experienced similar. Any advise will help. Many thanks. Vik

Yes I did, ran temperature of 101 for 4 days, pulse went up from 87 to 122 for 4 days, felt like I had flu & felt dazed, took 7 days for temperature to drop (slowly) to normal. Used Panadol but made little difference. Arm was very sore for a week, then very itchy for 2 weeks after. I am in my 50’s & coming up to 5years of being treated with Ibrutinib.

oh okay. Seems like similar to hers. Hope you are better now. My mom is 1yr now on Ibrutinib as well, is 67 yrs old.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I wear an activity monitor and mine recorded an increase in my resting pulse for 3 days after my COVID jab whist I had mild flu like symptoms. Not as much of an increase as your mother though.

Oh okay. Many thanks for your reply. Did you share your data with the vaccine manufacturer?

No, I didn’t think mine was significant enough

Tachycardia here too. As it was not on the symptom list, I reported it via the ‘yellow card system’ .. I took to my bed for 12 hours, by which time my pulse was down from 125-135, to slightly raised 80-90.

I figure that allergic types are affected by histidine in AZ, which is there to promote immune response.. it promotes histamine..

50yrs old, likely my age makes a difference. I did not have a fever, but suspect this means a less good vaccine response.
