Just this morning got my second AZ vaccine. I'm in NI, it's st Patrick's day. After my initial disappointment that it wasn't coloured green, then my observation that it was delivered with an orange syringe I've nothing to report 1 hr after it was given. This is 5 weeks to the day from the first after which I did feel groggy, tired and had a sore head. Mo big deal, though its often reported the second dose gives a rougher ride but hey-ho. Keep you all posted 😁

☘️ Happy St. Pat's! Sorry there was no green vaccine!

We just had our first AZ vaccine here in Ontario Canada, in the midst of the controversy surrounding it. As well as double checking with my husband’s specialist (he has CLL) who said to move forward with it, I checked here to be extra sure!

Hope this second shot isn’t too rough!

Quick update. Got this vaccine at noon yesterday and felt fine until late evening when I dull headache appeared. Went to bed but woke throughout the night feeling groggy, but not so bad. Up in the morning sore head is worse, slightly achy joints and still a groggy feeling in my gut. Big glass of orange juice and cereal and feeling better. Nothing I need to take anything for. Pleased to see some reaction I guess.

And in conclusion yesterday was back to normal.

Thanks for the update! And glad you’re back to normal.

I’m a worrier at the best of times, and the news reports have us so confused at the moment. Your positive results ease my mind. ☺️

(We’re in Canada, vaccines have been slow to roll out, had our first dose a week ago.)

Good to hear you're back to normal.

I am based in Tyrone, can I ask if you received the second dose of AZ after 5 weeks as a matter of policy in your area, or just chance due to over supply?

I'm just wondering if I should be asking my practice for a quicker second jab,

(a commentator last week alluded to more efficacy for blood cancer patients if they get an earlier second dose, not sure if this was relating to the general studies already mentioned on here, the 13% reducing to 8% one)

In my area, those that I know who are getting the second AZ are waiting 10 weeks.

When I got the first dose at my GP the nurse then advised me they intended to give the second at 4 weeks, which ran on to 5.it sounded like their own decision. Coincidentally a brother who is immuno-suppressed due to transplant meds was given it in the same practice on the same day but was told 10-12 weeks for second dose. That did intrigue me but we were both called for the second again on the same day, so we both have 5 weeks between doses. As little as it may benefit us anyway I do wonder is a longer or shorter wait between doses more beneficial. 🤷‍♂️ I suppose we are all in one big experiment really.
