Day 2 of Obinutuzamab

Well i am speechless : my WBC fell from 187 yesterday to 3.2 this morning !That is after a 100 ml dose. Simply amazing.

I didn"t get any tremors just a mild reaction of high temperature of 38.5 and pulse. of 100. No trauma as expected initially.

To be on the safe side I am being given 2 packets of blood today after my 900 ml transfusion of O.

Tomorrow I can go home :-), then I return next Monday for a 1000ml dose.

Good to hear all went well for you. May that be so for your entire treatment time and beyond. Take care and keep us posted on how you go.

Gazyva is amazing. It eats bad lymphocytes like Pac Man eats ghosts.

Glad your infusion went well RitaBa.

It really is amazing JM,

Thank you, I just read your 11 month summary: very helpful and long may you remain in remission.

Hi RitaBa! I was just -or more- as surprised as you after my first O. My WBC fell like a brick. I just couldn't believe it. My doctor had told me I should be seeing good results quickly, but I never imagined it would be that fast. Now, after 6 months, and my last O infusion a month ago, my blood is back where it was dozens of years ago. This is good stuff.

I was so scared when I was first told I had CLL -that was only a month after I had been told I had prostate cancer- I thought it was the end of the world. Now I've come to realize that with all the technology and new drugs it has made possible, I am really very fortunate, and so are you. Not so long ago none of this stuff existed. My prostate is now gone, and so far that problem is way behind me. Again, all the best in your coming O infusions. I dont expect you will have any problems. I'm sure you are in good hands.

Yes you are absolutely right, we are very fortunate to be living in these times when cancer is no longer an immediate death sentence.

Modern medicine has given us the opportunity to manage our conditions well.

Take care and let’s hope the eventual remission will be a long one.

Best,

Rita
