My husband has just had a message from our financial advisers. It seems that there is a recent scam doing the rounds, the scammers send an email telling you that you are now eligible for a Covid19 vaccination. They then request you to enter your bank details so that they can check your address etc!! Be careful folks xxx

Too true! So many of these scams doing the rounds. The scammers have found themselves ‘sitting targets’ confined to home. I’ve had a few of these texts telling me my bank account (they use varying ones), has been linked to another account and if it’s not me, click on the link.
Never give your account details in this way and don’t follow any link purporting to be your bank no matter how authentic it looks. Oh and that devoted dating site admirer probably has another 10 ‘victims’ on his books and is very good at his seduction technique. He’ll decimate your heart and your bank account! It’s massively on the increase as these heartless characters exploit loneliness 😡
Luckily it was on the news and to be honest it looked impressive. I might have responded until I got to the bank account details. What next. I wouldn’t wish anything nasty on anyone but might start making a few exceptions 🤔
One of the most convincing I’ve seen is the TV licence renewal scam online. My husband spotted it in time but it’s raked in millions for the scammers so far.
I have trouble with the robocall I get several time a year saying the FBI is looking for a man who is supposedly living at this address (I can't remember the name used this year) and threaten prosecution. Then give me a number to call in a time limit to avoid prosecution.
I can't talk to the robot to say I never heard of the person. Can't figure out what the scam is, most likely just to get identity information from me.
