HI. Great news, I'm in remission But my Doctor still doesn't want me close to anyone. Can't play cards, go to the store etc. Can only see people on my deck 8 feet apart with a mask. I have been in quarantine since the Pandemic started. Anyone else with such strict request from their doctor?

Being quarantined
"deck"? You have a yacht? I hope it's all plain sailing, from now on🌻
🍻Good health!
What treatment did you have or are you on? Any of the treatments when you are on them AND for a pretty long time AFTER you have finished treatment can leave you very susceptible to infections of all kinds.
You can, at least see some friends and family at a safe distance and that is not any different from what I have been doing since Covid became my lifestyle.
When you say "deck", I envisioned your friends as the size of Liliputins that can fit atop the deck of cards you can't play games with. Looks like it is solitaire only for a bit longer.
I understand it is not what any of us would choose, but your Dr. is spot on with keeping you safe. My Dr. has not had to tell me to maintain distance, not be in room with other people, wear a mask, wash hands. But, I would imagine I'd be getting those instructions and even more like your quarantine if I were in treatment or had just finished treatment.
I hope you can keep contact with your computer or phone and at least talk with others you know. It is a weird time to be living and navigating CLL with the pandemic. Not a barrel of laughs, but for me so far, I have been able to talk/visit at distance and wearing a mask.
Best wishes for a safe and continued remission.
We are following the same here in Geneva—my husband is in remission but his immune system is still building back (better!). I think it’s wise council. You’re not alone. Hang in there and congrats on your new health status.
Deck .. sounds colonial?
It seems to be how we are all living with the pandemic.
Those are also the guidelines I have been advised. I am on continuing therapy with Acalabrutinib and am in partial remission.
I am originally from Michigan and we call it a “”deck”, too! Hang in there, we are all in this together.
I am technically in remission (not MRD negative) but still on Venetoclax, and my oncologist is giving me the same advice...stay home! My white cell count and neutrophils are below normal, so she has concern that my immune system wouldn't be able to fight off Covid.
We call it a "deck" in Oklahoma, too!
Is that the same as a 'stoop'(front porch)? I think that's the term they use in some parts of America...... Please excuse my ignorance, I'm a Cockney (nothing like Dick Van Dyke in Mary Popins....... If ever I find out where he lives..... ) .....
A deck is typically in the back yard...you might call it the back porch. It is usually elevated and made of wood or a wood type product.
Congrats on being in remission. I’m not there yet but I have questioned my doctor about going back to work. Where I work there’s a mask mandate, I work mostly outside, but I have contact with the public so he won’t clear me to work again until my labs are back to normal.

OK friends in the US this is one of those words that is not understood here in Wales (UK)
What on earth do you mean by deck ????
Stay safe

Wooden platform usually attached to your house where you can puts some chairs and /or a grill.
My grandmother had leukemia 63 years ago, was "cured"......then died of an infection approximately 6 months later. 60-odd years ago we didn't know how long it takes for our immune systems to fully recover (if ever) after chemo. Nowadays we can measure our bone marrow recovery much better! Follow your doctors recommendations, everyone is different regarding how quickly your immune system bounces back.
