No. imbruvica is not chemo.
My hair broke and thinned while I was on Ibrutinib. Partly could be due to hypothyroidism which I developed.
My hair broke off , ditto my nails and skin thinned so much some of my petechial spots on hands bled a tiny drop of blood and then dried and disappeared. On Ibrutinib for 17p-since 2016- no idea what if any link there is but obvious loss of keratin was the primary cause.
I didn’t lose any hair at all. Mine became thicker and curly for the first time in my life!
My hair lost condition a few months after starting Ibrutinib to the point that my hairdresser would not colour it. I then let it go grey and although the condition has returned to normal have kept it that way. My hair is naturally thick but it has become very curly which I find really hard to cope with having had bone straight hair all my life!

My hair went from very curly to being just wavy! When I stopped Ibrutinib after 9 months the curl started to return!
I've been on Ibrutinib since January and have detected no changes to my hair, though my skin has been super dry and my nails weak.
Actually my hair is now very thick and curly since I have been on Imbruvica.
I lost some hair
This is my first post, but have been following for a good year. I started Imbruvica in October 1999. Four months into treatment my very naturally curly hair started to thin and become brittle. The curl pattern started to change and have a mind of their own. My scalp at the same became inflamed and itchy. My dermatologist stated that this was chemo induced. Steroid shampoo prescribed and helping. After 40 years of coloring, I decided to embrace my grays. Since this is the only side effect I have had, I consider myself lucky. I still work full time as an Oncology nurse and am thankful for this supportive site.

No change.
Been on imbruvica for 22 months. No hair loss.
My hair turned very very curly!!! But I didn’t lose any hair. My biggest problem was is my nails splitting and breaking and my feet and fingers split and crack open.
I have been on imbruvica since 2017. My hair was very curly now it is straight and thinning out. My hair dresser suggested I use a new shampoo & conditioner, volume setting lotion and organic vegan hair color. My hair is starting to look and feel
Better. I don’t have to many other complaints Feeling blessed .
Hello,
Like Corkyrissa I changed to a very gentle shampoo and conditioner and the frequent clearing hair out of the shower trap has reduced.
