TCell CLL and breast cancer

Hi, I have T cell lymphatosis on watch and wait , my recent CT scan shows raised lymph nodes in neck , shoulder blades & axila , also multiple nodules in the breast . Is there a link between CLL and breast cancer ?

Hi 333butterfly,

While there is NOT a proven direct link (causation), CLL patients are about 2X more likely to have a 2nd unrelated cancer- often attributed to our compromised immune system not detecting and attacking the cancer cells when they first appear.

You may want to inquire whether the nodules mentioned appear to be swollen lymph nodes, since that seems to be a common result.

Many women deal with being called back for further testing after a mammogram because of lymph nodes that appear to possibly be breast cancer.
